Lies de Rooij (1991). Als maker onderzoek ik hoe kunst lichtheid en verwondering kan brengen in een vaak zwaar aanvoelende wereld. Door gevonden beelden, objecten en afbeeldingen in omgevingen te hercontextualiseren, creëer ik collages en installaties die het alledaagse verstoren.

In mijn werk is de omgeving een actief onderdeel van het verhaal, waardoor het vertrouwde vervreemd wordt en de kijker aangemoedigd wordt tot nieuwsgierigheid, speelsheid en herinterpretatie.

Zo hoop ik een zachte verstoring te bieden die uitnodigt tot dromen, verbinding en even gewichtloos zijn.

As a maker, I explore how art can bring lightness and wonder into a world that often feels heavy.

By re‑contextualising found images, objects and pictures within environments, I create collages and installations that disrupt the everyday.

In my work, the surroundings become an active part of the narrative, turning the familiar into the unfamiliar and encouraging the viewer toward curiosity, playfulness and reinterpretation.

Through this, I aim to offer a gentle disturbance that invites dreaming, connection and a moment of weightlessness.
